Welcome to the History of Martek page! Here you will find how Martek became who he is today. You will find out how the idea was created and get inside of the mind of Martek. All info in here is official and is written by the creator, Brian D. Martin, himself.

Martek was created in the Spring of 2000. He was created by a teenaged boy named Brian Martin. At the time, Brian went to school in a small town called Norco. His parents divorced a few years prior to his tenth grade year, and he went to live with his Mother, Carolyn. His twin brother Kevin Martin moved in with the two shortly after. But enough of that, lets get back to Brian. Brian was forced by the school system to switch schools because he was living outside of the district. He didn't get an interdistrict transfer, so he attended a school in Mira Loma, CA. Shortly after he attended, his first day of school consisted in wearing a trenchcoat, and all black. Because of the change Brian was going through, he was a very upset teenager and wanted to dress in a dark way. He wore Sunglasses, a trenchcoat, and all black basically. The Matrix came out shortly after that, but Brian still thinks that the Matrix saw him and stole his idea, who knows. Any ways, the school started to see Brian as a cool dude, and he became friends with everyone. Brian participated with many things at the school and became one of the most popular guys around campus. In the 10th grade, Brian's first year, he was given an English assignment. the assignment was to create a Childrens story with 15 pages or so, illustrations etc. Brian was always fascinated with King Arthur, and Medieval Ages. He also had a fascination in Magic. So he decided to make a fantasy story about a teenaged boy who found a sword in a stone and got superhero powers. The project scored well, but it wasn't enough to actually be a real life deal. After years of jogging the idea around, Brian decided to take 15 pages and turn it into a full blown novel. He changed the sword in the stone parts to more believable events. This book has nothing to do with King Arthur, but it does weild the powers of a sword into superhuman abilities which is awe inspiring. Facts about Martek found below.

TRUE FACTS ABOUT MARTEK

1. Martek is a name that Brian created from an old friend Mike Spizzire back in 1999. Mike created his magic name to be Shartek. Brian thought that it sounded stupid so he put his last name "Martin" and took the first three letters and added "tek" to it. He found that "Martek" was a very cool name.
2. Druid is actually one of Brian's good friends, Robert Prasch. His nick name is Druid.
3. John was originally one of Brian's friends, John Garcia, but never mentioned his last name. John could be anyone in the novel.
4. Rodney Burns was once a real enemy to Brian in elementary school. They later became friends a long time ago, but now never talk.
5. Riverdale High School is actually Norco High School
6. Downtown Riverdale is actually Downtown Norco in California, but Riverdale has tall buildings, thus making it a large fictional city.
7. Ashley's original name was Heather, named after Brian's ex-girlfriend Heather Rode. After the seperation, he changed it to Ashley, which is a generic name.
8. Brian's friend Eric, is a black person, but mentions this sometime in the series.
9. Martek's costume originally looked like the 1980's Batman, but was converted to look original and authentic.
10. Solaro was originally known as Shartek, but later made his name more professional and original to the theme.
11. The Ontario Weather Service and Kevin Martin are real people, in this world.
12. Ashley's house is originally the same house that Heather Rode lived in at the time the book was re-written.
13. The Rockstar Grill was actually named the Rode Grill, but changed after the seperation.
14. Martek never knew who is real father was.
15. The original Martek sword was actually a collectable King Arthur Sword known as Excalibur. It was later re-designed to match the theme.
16. Martek is based on the creator Brian Martin, when he was a teenager.
17. Martek's main colors are Blue and Black, they are also the two favorite colors that Brian Martin likes.
18. Solaro's main color was originally Red, the opposite of Blue, and the color of evil. To make the story match perfectly to Soloro, the color was changed to match the color of Earth's Sun, which is around yellow.
19. Martek was originally titled, Powers of the Swords, which was a childrens story that Brian Martin created as a teenager. After that, Brian dreamed of making his story into a complete success, which seven years later was released into the world. The title Martek, fit perfectly to the story.
20. In Powers of the Swords, John, Druid, and Martek actually had power swords, when put together it made for a powerful weapon. In Martek, there are only two power swords.
